PeroCycle is a decarbonisation technology company, developing a novel thermochemical process to convert carbon dioxide (CO₂) into carbon monoxide (CO), enabling circular carbon use in blast-furnace steelmaking. By replacing fossil-fuels with recycled CO from captured emissions, we aim to help decarbonise blast furnace operations without requiring existing infrastructure to be replaced and without relying on the availability of low-cost green hydrogen.
The venture originated from the University of Birmingham and is supported by Anglo American and Cambridge Future Tech.
