Cambridge Future Tech (CFT) is a deep tech venture builder specialising in creating companies around cutting-edge IP. We are currently launching a new data centre cooling technology venture as a spinout from a UK university.
The new cooling tech venture is producing a new high-efficiency air cooling unit that uses indirect evaporative cooling to deliver cool air without adding humidity. The innovation incorporates a specialised heat exchanger made of corrugated, shape-optimised plates that maximise heat transfer between air streams. This achieves ground-breaking energy efficiency, demonstrating a 90% reduction in energy consumption and carbon emissions in data centre trials.

We are seeking a highly accomplished and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the company from its inception to global market leadership. The CEO will have the opportunity to define and execute the company’s strategic vision. The incoming CEO will benefit from the deep expertise of a venture-building team skilled in spinout governance, technology strategy and securing investment for the venture. Closely supported by CFT, the CEO will establish operational infrastructure, secure funding, and drive commercial readiness.

Oversee supply chain scale-up and specialised HVAC manufacturing
Lead company strategy, vision, and execution
Drive fundraising efforts
Build and guide a high-performing leadership team
Develop commercial partnerships and market entry strategies

Proven experience as a CEO or senior leader in a start-up or high-growth technology company
Strong background in manufacturing and supply chains for complex hardware (ideally HVAC or energy systems)
Successful track record of fundraising
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
