Chief Executive Officer
NOTE: THIS POSITION IS NOW CLOSED FOR APPLICATIONS.
Overview
Company: PeroCycle | Steel Decarbonisation Climate Tech Startup
Location: Cambridge / Birmingham (United Kingdom)
Role (part-time / full time): Full-Time
-
A spinout backed by Anglo American, Cambridge Future Tech, and the University of Birmingham, PeroCycle is solving the 2.8 gigaton CO2 problem the steel industry faces. Their innovative carbon recycling approach enables a cost-effective, practical path to steel decarbonisation, working with existing infrastructure instead of replacing it.
-
PeroCycle is developing a retrofittable thermochemical reactor which will utilise novel materials technologies that allow CO2 to be converted to CO. The CO can then be injected into the blast furnace, where it will reduce the iron ore to pig iron. Hence, the PeroCycle technology will circularise the steelmaking process and cut out emissions.
-
